The diversity of the wild nature of the Kintrishi Gorge for thousands of years has preserved the valuable architectural heritage of the inhabitants of Adjara. The oldest cities-fortresses, monasteries, and churches on the heights, carved into the rocks, conceal biblical legends, and mythical and chronicle pages of the history of mankind.?? ?? ?? The reserve was established in 1959 on an area of 6943 hectares in Kobuleti, district of Adjara.
The reserve is home to Caucasian brown bears, chamois, and roe deer. As for the smaller mammals, it is mostly hares, martens, caresses, and so on.
On the mountain slopes of Kintrishi, rising from 450 to 2 thousand meters above sea level, where the age-old oaks, beeches, and chestnut trees, twined with lianas, firs, and thousand-year-old samshits, the mountain rivers rustle and streams run, streaming with waterfalls from steep rocks, and above, on a subalpine level, there are lakes of amazing beauty. ??
